Joana C McCloy

I'm a DPhil (PhD) Candidate in Politics, researching resistance transformation and the trajectories of civil resistance campaigns. My research centres on mechanisms of failure, specifically the interaction between state repression and movement escalation.

I hold an MPhil in Comparative Government from Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, and a BA in International Relations and Economics from Jacobs University in Germany.

Isabella Cuervo-Lorens

I am a first-year DPhil Candidate in Politics interested in the intersection of political economy, business power, and judicial politics. My thesis research explores relationships between legal institutions, both international and domestic, and economic inequality in North American advanced capitalist democracies. I also pursue secondary research interests in labour and authoritarian politics.  

Colin Goad

I am a DPhil student in political theory in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. My doctoral research focuses on the nature of our interest in living a rich interpersonal life and state obligations to support this interest. I am jointly supervised by Dr. Daniel Butt and Professor David Miller.
