Lukas Seibert
Lukas Seibert is a DPhil (PhD) candidate in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations. In his doctoral thesis, he investigates how transparency regulations affect legislators' extra-parliamentary activities and how remunerated side jobs influence their behaviour within parliament. By exploring these dynamics, his work sheds light on broader questions of transparency and accountability in legislative bodies.
In addition to his thesis, Lukas’s research interests encompass the role of money in politics, legislative behaviour, European Union politics, and morality policy. His work emphasises quantitative methods to analyse the functioning of political institutions and decision-making processes.
Lukas holds an MSc in European and International Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Political Science and Public Law from Heidelberg University. His doctoral studies are generously funded by the Queen’s College Waverley Scholarship.
