Johannes Porst
Johannes is a DPhil candidate in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR), specialising in international security and European politics. Supervised by Professor Lucas Kello, his doctoral research examines the impact of Ukraine’s innovative adoption of drone warfare and its broader implications for the country's war efforts. By analysing the intersection of military innovation, national identity, and security strategies in contemporary conflict zones, his work seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of the evolving dynamics of modern warfare and state resilience.
Prior to his graduate studies at Oxford, Johannes obtained a Master of Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he focused on conflict, security, and European policy-making. Previously he pursued a Master of Science in Strategy and International Business at Aston Business School, following the completion of a Bachelor in Business Administration at Bayreuth University. During his tenure at Bayreuth, he was affiliated with the Chair of Economics, where he contributed to academic research and teaching activities.
