Seth Lazar awarded prize for his thesis, War and Associative Duties

Congratulations to Seth Lazar, who has just been awarded the biennial 2011 American Philosophical Association Frank Chapman Sharp Prize for the best unpublished monograph on the philosophy of war and peace. Previous winners of which include Jeff McMahan, Larry May, Brian Orend, and David Rodin.


This award is for his thesis, ‘War and Associative Duties’. He will be receiving the $1500 prize at the APA Eastern division meeting in December 2011. Seth also has an initial publication agreement with OUP Philosophy.

Seth Lazar is a research associate at the Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict, based at Nuffield College.
