Professor Rana Mitter comments on the Rape of Nanjing

Rana Mitter was interviewed on the Witness programme for the BBC World Service (17 June) on the horrific events in 1937 that became known as the Rape of Nanjing.


Rana gives some background as to the causes, and explains why this event in particular was so extreme. The programme also features an interview with Chu-Yeh Chang, a survivor of the massacre who was 14 years old at the time.
