Professor Anne Deighton awarded a Visiting Professorship at Sciences Po, Paris

Date

Congratulations to Professor Anne Deighton, who has been awarded a Visiting Professorship at Sciences Po, Paris, in March-April 2010.

Anne will work in the French archives, and look at French party political papers as well as at other relevant sets of personal papers, to determine why French postwar politics were far more successful internationally - at least in Europe - than those of Britain in the late 1940s and the 1950s. She will contribute to relevant debates in Paris, both on these historical issues, and also on contemporary issues relating to European security.

The OXPO Visiting Professorship scheme was set up this academic year and enables faculty from the social and political sciences to visit Sciences Po for one month. Further information is available at http://oxpo.politics.ox.ac.uk/projects/visiting_professorships.asp

Anne Deighton is Professor of European International Politics, University Lecturer, Fellow, Wolfson College
