Politics in Spires and openDemocracy co-host Democratic wealth: building a citizens economy

Over the coming months, Politics in Spires and openDemocracy will be co-hosting a series of articles which will explore alternatives to the neoliberal economic model which many feel is responsible for the current global financial crisis.

Entitled Democratic wealth: building a citizens economy, the collaboration will be led by Dr Stuart White, and will explore the idea that a republican political economy may provide an alternative way to respect and protect the freedom of the citizen, uphold our standing as civic equals, make effective our status as active participants in a popular sovereignty, and serve a genuinely common good.
