New visiting fellowship for Burmese scholars

Applications are invited for a Charles Wallace Burma Trust Visiting Fellow from Burma to the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, during the academic year 2011-12. The duration of the Fellowship is up to three months, and the Visiting Fellow is expected to be in residence during one Oxford term. S/he will be affiliated to the Centre for International Studies.


The purpose of the fellowship is to advance the understanding of contemporary issues in the field of politics/international relations across a broad range of themes. The Fellowship will provide return economy airfare from Burma and a monthly stipend to cover costs at Oxford. In exceptional circumstances an applicant currently resident outside Burma may be considered.

The Visiting Fellow may be a scholar or a practitioner. Selection follows the Department policy and procedure for Academic Visitors and is subject to the approval of the Charles Wallace Burma Trust.

The Deadline for the 2011-2012 round is Friday, 3 June 2011.
