Robin Harding comes from the University of Rochester in New York to take up the post of tutorial fellow at Lady Margaret Hall and QStep lecturer.  His research focuses primarily on the political economy of development in sub-Saharan Africa, and his most recent book is entitled ‘Attribution and Accountability: Voting for Roads in Ghana’.

Shaina Western, previously at the University of California, Davis, takes up a fixed term department and tutorial post at Somerville College.  Her research focus is on the limitations of international treaties to understand why some treaties are widely adopted while others are not.

Carlotta Minella will have a fixed term lectureship at St John’s College.  She will come from the University of York, and her research focuses on theories of international cooperation and social incentives to international security regime participation, specifically in the field of multilateral counter-terrorist cooperation. In particular, she is interested in counter-terrorist financing, sanctions and human rights, anti-money laundering, and countering violent extremism (CVE) policies.
