Monica Richter's MPhil research quoted in The Times

Monica Richter's research has been quoted in an article by The Times on the Russian-backed news channel, Russia Today.

The article drew on work conducted by Monica as part of her MPhil in Politics: European Politics and Society, and her thesis entitled ‘The Postmodern Pravda: Can Russian International Broadcasting Sway Western Public Opinion?’. The research for the thesis included an online survey experiment testing the short-term effects of Russia Today’s coverage of the Ukraine crisis on participants’ attitudes towards Russia and the West.

The article notes that "those exposed only to RT’s message became significantly more hostile to the western viewpoint — but the effect decreased when people were also shown BBC coverage."
