Michelle Gavin nominated US Ambassador to Botswana

Michelle Gavin - MPhil graduate in International Relations, 1996 - has been nominated US Ambassador to Botswana. Michelle previously held a post as Senior Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council and Senior Advisor to the President of the United States.
According to an article in Lauren Rozens Politico blog, Vice President Joe Biden said to President Obama: Mr. President, whatever you do dont let her leave, to which the President replied I know shes one of the best weve got, and I wouldnt let her leave unless I knew she was going to be able to help us in the future.
