The Department is delighted to announce that Jeanne Morefield will join the team in September 2021 as the new Associate Professor in Political Theory with New College.
Jeanne is currently a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of Political Theory at the University of Birmingham and a Fellow at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft in Washington D.C.
Her scholarship sits at the intersection of political theory, international relations, and intellectual history with a particular focus on the relationship between liberalism, imperialism, and internationalism in Britain and America.
Jeanne was previously Co-President of the Association for Political Theory (2016-2019), Professor of Politics at Whitman College in the U.S (2000-2018) and Professorial Fellow of The Institute for Social Justice, Australian Catholic University (2015-2018).
She has contributed articles for academic journals including History of Political Thought, Political Theory, and Theory and Event. Her more popular work has appeared in The Boston Review, Jacobin, Responsible Statecraft, and The New Statesman.
