The Cyber Studies Programme recently hosted a workshop with Robert Madelin focusing on ‘Europe and Innovation’. Robert is the Senior Innovation Adviser in European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker's in-house think tank as well as a Cyber Studies Visiting Fellow based at the department.
The workshop was co-hosted by the Centre for International Studies and was co-chaired by Professor Kalypso Nicolaïdis and Dr Lucas Kello. Robert presented a report that he is preparing for President Juncker reviewing current European innovation policy as well as exploring future developments in this area. The discussion also examined different theories of innovation policy and its implications for European politics and society.
