The Guardian published a feature by Professor Avi Shlaim, entitled How Israel brought Gaza to the brink of humanitarian catastrophe` (the Guardian (G2), p.1, Avi Shlaim (UK), 07/01/2009).
Avi Shlaim is Professor of International Relations at Oxford University, Professorial Fellow, St Antony`s College, and a former soldier with the Israeli army. He believes the current offensive in Gaza is a continuation of Israel`s aim to create a `greater Israel`.
