Governing the Globe? Governance and Institutions in the 21st Century opening lecture today at 5 pm

The inaugural lecture of the Governing the Globe? Governance and Institutions in the 21st Century` programme will take place today. The lecture is entitled The Silent Revolution in Global Economic Governance`, Dr Ngaire Woods (University Lecturer in International Relations and Director, Global Economic Governance Programme).

The lecture opens a programme of academic events that will run through the 2007-08 academic year, entitled ‘Governing the Globe? Governance and Institutions in the 21st Century` and directed by Professor Andrew Hurrell. The programme, sponsored by Oxford University`s Social Sciences Division, will highlight the work of leading Oxford academics from a wide range of social science disciplines, provide a forum for cross-disciplinary debate amongst doctoral students, and bring to Oxford a series of outstanding visiting speakers.

Time: 5 pm, Monday 8th October 2007
