Federica Mogherini to deliver the 2019 Cyril Foster Lecture

Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will deliver the 2019 Cyril Foster Lecture on Tuesday 15 October.


This year’s Lecture, titled ‘The EU’s Role as a Global Player for Peace and Stability’, will take place at the Manor Road Building Lecture Theatre from 14:30.

Federica Mogherini has held office as High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and as Vice-President of the European Commission since November 2014. She was the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs from February to October 2014 and a Member of the Italian Parliament (Chamber of Deputies) from May 2008 to September 2014.

The Cyril Foster Lecture is the University's principal annual guest lecture in the field of International Relations. Since its inception in 1960, the lecture series has attracted a wide range of internationally-renowned speakers, from the worlds of politics, policy and academia.
