Dr. Shane Mac Giollabhui awarded Research Funding from Universitys John Fell OUP

Congratulations to Dr. Shane Mac Giollabhui who has been awarded a research grant from the John Fell OUP Research Fund for his project, Internal Party Democracy in post-Apartheid Africa for the period 1 January 2012 to 30 September 2012.

The project will analyse four African political parties and will focus on the 2009 elections in South Africa and Namibia. The project has two research questions: how did the four parties select candidates to contest the 2009 parliamentary and presidential elections, and; how did these procedures influence the behaviour of parliamentarians and the cohesion of the party.
