Dr Sarmila Bose comments on Indian telecoms scandal

Samila Bose was interviewed in Caixin magazine about recent developments in the current telecoms scandal in India, which has seen the resignation of the Communications and Information Technology Minister.

Samila was quoted as saying, In terms of next steps to curb corruption, the prospect is discouraging. She also added, Curbing corruption requires strong public institutions, but Indias institutions have been widely observed to have weakened over time. Turning this trend around would require a massive effort of leadership, which has not been in evidence so far.
