Dr Nic Cheeseman's work discussed in light of Uganda's imminent election

Dr Nic Cheeseman has been quoted in the Financial Times, in an article discussing the effects of African leaders "overstaying". He comments that the problem with sucessful leaders is that “they start to believe their own hype”.


Nic's work on elections and democracy had featured heavily in coverage of the upcoming Ugandan elections.  His analysis, which looks at when ruling parties lose power and how elections are conducted has appeared in The Times, Newsweek and the Washington Post.

Nic is currently in Uganda and tweeting coverage as @fromagehomme.
