Dr Christine Cheng on the 2011 Liberian election

Date

Christine Cheng was interviewed by Radio France Internationale (17 January) about Liberian leader of the oppostion Winston Tubman recognising the recent election win of current president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (also winner of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize), and even accepting a place in President Sirleafs cabinet.

Christine said that, even though Tubman had boycotted earlier stages of the election and regardless of what his personal motivation may be, his decision to join the cabinet was the best decision for Liberia.
