These Awards celebrate projects that have demonstrated a commitment to equality and diversity across the University. The Global Thinkers Project is one of four to be shortlisted in the ‘Promoting Awareness’ category, which ‘recognises work to raise awareness and promote understanding of equality and diversity issues’. Their work—including their discussion series, which is now online—explores the internationalist thought of individuals who have made significant contributions in international affairs but have been excluded from the discipline of International Relations due to biases of language, region, and gender.
To expand its reach across the university, the project partners across disciplines (History and Area Studies), divisions (Social Sciences and Humanities), research centres (Latin American Centre, Spanish Studies at Oxford, Contemporary South Asian Studies, Rothermere American Institute, African Studies Centre, Asian Studies Centre, and TORCH) and colleges (St Cross, St Antony’s and Somerville).
The winners are due to be announced later this month.
