The Department is second in QS World University Ranking for 2014

The DPIR has been ranked second in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2014 tables for Politics and International Studies.

The DPIR scored 91.8 out of 100, following top-ranked Harvard University with a score of 93.8. The London School of Economics and Political Science is in third place, scoring 90.5. Scores take into account academic and employer reputation surveys, along with citations per faculty. The methodology is explained in detail here.

The University of Oxford was also ranked joint second (with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the field of Social Sciences by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which are available here.
