The Department of Politics and International Relations is pleased to announce that the 2020 Oxford Spring School in Advanced Research Methods is now open for applications.
The 2020 Oxford Spring School will take place from Monday 30 March to Friday 3 April.
Oxford Spring School offers graduate students and researchers from universities across the UK and abroad a unique venue to learn cutting-edge methods in Social Science.
The programme consists of a variety of courses in data analysis techniques, and the use of these techniques in different types of research design. We offer several courses relevant to both quantitative and qualitative researchers: in 2020, the week-long options will be Causal Inference, Machine Learning and Fieldwork Techniques, with afternoon course options focused on R, coding and computational skills, and catering to a range of backgrounds.
Oxford Spring School 2020 will be held at the historic and beautiful Brasenose College. The fee to attend is £670, with all applicants eligible for one of ten half bursaries worth £335, which will be awarded based on merit. Accommodation is not included in the course fee, though we can offer a competitive rate at Brasenose College: £65 per night for a standard (non-ensuite) room, or £85 per night for an ensuite room (both including breakfast).
