An article by Adnan Rafiq was published in the Dawn newspaper, the major English language daily paper in Pakistan, on the politics of river water-sharing.
Adnan is quoted as saying, Between Pakistan and India sharing the water of the Indus and its various tributaries has been a cause of contention. Some suggest that one of the reasons for Pakistan`s obsession with Kashmir is that all of these rivers originate from the valley. He also points out that Muhammad Ali Jinnah once referred to Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan.
