Athena Swan: The University of Oxford was a founding member of the Athena Swan Charter and has held an institutional Bronze award since 2006.

In February 2023, the University achieved an institutional Silver award for the first time, recognising the significant progress made over the past five years in addressing gender disparities across the institution.

Race Equality Charter: Advance HE's Race Equality Charter is designed to enhance the representation, progression, and success of minority ethnic staff and students in higher education.

The framework helps universities identify and critically examine institutional barriers faced by minority ethnic staff and students. It also serves as a platform to elevate the importance of race equality and foster ongoing dialogue about what it means in practice.

In February 2024, the University successfully renewed its Bronze award for the Race Equality Charter, building on the achievement of its first Bronze award in 2018.

Stonewall Workplace Equality Index: Stonewall is Europe's largest charity supporting lesbian, gay, bi, and trans (LGBT) rights, and the University is proud to be a member of its Diversity Champions Programme. This initiative helps employers create inclusive workplaces where all LGBT staff are fully accepted.

Each year, the University submits to the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, a rigorous, evidence-based benchmarking tool that evaluates an organisation’s efforts in advancing LGBT equality against Stonewall’s best practices and sector-wide standards.
