
Viviana Baraybar Hidalgo
Academic Profile
I am a DPhil student in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations and a member of Nuffield College; I am also a Clarendon Scholar. Before starting my DPhil I completed the MPhil in Comparative Government in the same Department.
Before coming to Oxford I obtained my bachelor's degree in Political Science at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Peru, graduating first of my class with a distinction in my dissertation. Part of my undergrad dissertation has recently been published in a co-authored article in Studies in Comparative International Development.
Teaching specialism, interests and experience
During my MPhil, I worked as a research assistant for professor González Ocantos at the Department of Politics and International Relations and at Nuffield College. I have also worked as a research assistant at the Center for Experimental Social Science.
Shortly after finishing my undergrad, I worked as a research assistant for professor Paula Muñoz at the Research Center of the Universidad del Pacífico in Peru. I also worked as a teaching assistant for professor Eduardo Dargent at the Pontificia Universidad Católica.
