Leonardo Steinfeld
I am a DPhil (PhD) candidate in International Relations at the University of Oxford’s Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR). My doctoral research investigates the organisational and individual-level determinants of wartime sexual violence.
Prior to studying at Oxford, I worked for five years with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in the field of peace and security in Nigeria and Ethiopia. In Abuja, I collaborated with staff from the Peace Support Operations Division at the ECOWAS Commission, primarily seconded military personnel, to enhance pre-deployment training for their stand-by force. In Addis Ababa, I worked closely with the Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) Department at the African Union Commission.
I hold an MSc in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Politics, Administration, and International Relations from Zeppelin University in Germany.
