Isabella O'Brien
Isabella is a first-year MPhil Comparative Government student at Kellogg College. Her research interests include electoral systems and political parties, specifically in Western Europe, New Zealand and Canada. Her MPhil thesis explores how green party politicians get elected under first-past-the-post electoral systems.
Prior to joining Oxford, Isabella graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California. Her degree included a year abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her undergraduate thesis examined the impact of electoral systems on the influence of the radical right. In addition, Isabella worked as a researcher and data analyst at Vox Pop Labs in Canada on civic engagement platforms such as Vote Compass, Australia Talks, and Polimeter.
Isabella is currently a research assistant at DPIR for a project on electoral system change.
