Brooke Weichel
I am a second-year MPhil in Politics (European Politics & Society) student and C. Douglas Dillon Scholar at Worcester College. I am broadly interested in Eastern European party politics, with my current research analysing the role of family ideas within Polish party competition.
Prior to Oxford, I received a BA in Political Science and International Studies (Distinction and High Honors) from the University of Michigan. My bachelor's thesis, supported by grants from the University of Michigan Center for European Studies and LSA Honors Program, examined the relationship between government and LGBTQ+ civil society in Poland and North Macedonia.
Outside of the DPIR, I serve as a Research Assistant with OSGA's Hub on Global Experiences of Gender and Care. I have also worked as a Communications Assistant for the University of Oxford/St. Gallen Symposium's Global Leadership Challenge and as a Graduate Researcher with Oxford Transitional Justice Research.
