Benedetta Giocoli
I am a second-year MPhil student in Politics (Comparative Government) researching the determinants and consequences of socialisation of party identity within the family. More broadly, I am interested in studying political behaviour, attitude and opinion formation, and political trust using causal inference and machine learning methods.
Before joining DPIR, I graduated from University College London with First Class Honours (Dean's List) in the BSc Philosophy, Politics and Economics with Social Data Science. In my undergraduate dissertation, I used quasi-experimental methods to examine the impact of radical right representation in legislatures on political system support.
I have extensive experience working as a Research Assistant on projects on identity politics, immigration attitudes, social trust, political violence, and international law.
My studies at Oxford are fully funded by a DPIR Studentship. I also hold a Senior Scholarship at Lincoln College.
