Sir Ivor Roberts on Germanys role in Europe

Sir Ivor Roberts published a comment piece in the Irish Independent online (13 May, 2012) on democracy in the Eurozone and the importance of Germany in light of the recent elections in France and Greece.


Noting recent undemocratic trends in some Eurozone countries, Sir Ivor notes that Germany may yet have to swallow the uncomfortable truth of printing more money to accommodate the new political realities in Europe. Bringing up examples prior to the recent crisis, he concludes that this may not be as hard as it sounds because Germanys economic purity has been sullied in the past and may have to be again.
