The 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) results have now been published. We are delighted to report that our submission to the Politics and International Studies Unit of Assessment has achieved top scores, confirming the excellence of our research.

We made the second largest submission overall in Politics and International Studies. By volume of overall (impact, environment, outputs) 4* research we are the leading Unit of Assessment in the discipline in the UK. In terms of 4* impact we are the leading Unit of Assessment, and we achieved a 100% 4* research environment score.

The REF is a new system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions and is undertaken by the four UK higher education funding bodies. For further information, please click here: http://www.ref.ac.uk/
