Kalypso Nicoladis is taking part in the European Shadow Council of the Spinelli Group in Brussels (8 December) in preparation for the upcoming EU summit on 9 December.
The Spinelli Group was founded in the spring of 2010 by Daniel Cohn-Bendit to contribute to relaunching European integration by promoting a common European vision instead of short term national interests.
The Council considers current proposals to deal with the financial crisis as unconvincing either to European citizens or to financial markets, and their view is that national egoism and scepticism seem to have framed the search for a solution at the expense of the common spirit that ought to characterise European politics.
A proposition for a comprehensive solution to the current crisis in the eurozone will be presented in a new Laeken + 10 Declaration at a press conference on Thursday, 8 December 2012.
