Professor Iain McLean gives evidence to the House of Lords on the constitutional implications of Scottish independence

Date

Iain McLean appeared before a House of Lords constitutional committee (12 February) to talk about the likely outcomes of Scottish Independence.

Iain said, “I think the Scottish government’s timetable is not realistic. One sufficient reason that it’s not realistic is their principal counter-party will be the government of the rest of the UK, as it becomes. The government of the rest of the UK, as we all know, runs until May 2015, and then there will be another government whose composition we don’t know.”

Iain appeared on the 'Morning Briefing' programme on BBC Radio Scotland (12 February), the 'Breakfast' programme on BBC One Scotland (12 February), the 'Overdrive' programme on Kingdom FM (12 February), in the Times (13 February - to read the article click here), the Daily Express ('Independence day ‘not realistic’' - 13 February), the Scottish Metro ('Full independence in 18 months 'doubtful'' - 13 February) and on the David Prever programme on BBC Radio Oxford (17 February).
