Professor Iain Mclean discusses Scotlands Choices: The Referendum and What Happens Afterwards

Date

Iain Mclean appeared on Newsnight Scotland (18 April) to discuss some of the issues surrounding the Scottish referendum on independence from the UK. In the programme, Iain talked about the recently published book hes written with colleagues Jim Gallagher and Guy Lodge, Scotlands Choices: The Referendum and What Happens Afterwards (Edinburgh University Press, 2013).

The book is an effort to give a balanced and objective view of the critical questions at the heart of the Scottish referendum. During the interview Iain says, “The people of Scotland will have to choose quite shortly, and the issues they’ll have to choose about are not simple … We’re not saying you should vote yes, we’re not saying you should vote no, but these are what we think are the issues.”

More information on the book, which is published by Edinburgh University Press, can be found here and here, and it can be purchased from Amazon here.

The BBC Scotland interview can be seen here, at about 9.20 on the iPlayer clock.
