Professor Iain McLean appointed Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Reform Committee

Congratulations to Professor Iain McLean, who was appointed as a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Reform Committee for their recent report on reform of the House of Commons. His role was to advise on methods of election of Chairs and members of Select Committees by the House (rather than the present practice of nomination by the Whips).

He is currently undertaking similar work for the House of Commons Procedure Committee (on methods for the election of three Deputy Speakers by the House).
