Professor David Anderson on the next chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court

David Anderson has taken part in a discussion on Al Jazeera TV(13 December) on the election ofGambian lawyer Fatou Bensouda asthe next chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Bensouda will become the first African to hold this post.

David was quoted as saying,The African Union is itself quite a divided house and, although as an organisation it has given support to an African being elected, that doesnt mean to say that all African states will now get their weight behind the court. I think thats much more problematical.
