Professor David Anderson comments on the Mali coup

Professor David Anderson was interviewed on Newsweek Scotland for BBC Radio Scotland (24 March) concerning the recent coup dtat which deposed the President of Mali, Amadou Toumani Tour, and sunk the country into civil unrest.

David gave some of the wider context surrounding the coup, including some background on Captain Amadou Haya Sanogo, who has declared himself the new leader. David also talks about the role of Libyan mercenaries in the infighting between rebel groups which has now broken out.
