Date
Bruce Nixon (PPE, 1952) has published a book entitled A Better World is Possible through O Bookspublishing.

In Bruces words, By fuelling climate change and damaging the ecosystem, the Western economic model threatens our very existence. Financed by debt money, it systematically transfers wealth from those who create it to the richest and most powerful. The gap between this elite and the rest of us is steadily increasing. Continuous economic growth defies common sense when were already consuming 30% more than the earth can provide and population is set to rise from 7bn to 15bn by the end of the century. Yet political leaders still use GDP to measure progress when the purpose of an economy should be the wellbeing of all. Preoccupied with escalating financial crises, they fail to prioritise the bold measures needed to prevent environmental catastrophe. Cuts are making the situation worse. A great transition to prosperity without growth and greening the economy could prevent environmental catastrophe and solve the debt driven economic crisis as well.

He also adds, This book offers an inspiring vision of a better world: sustainable, just, peaceful, bringing wellbeing to all. The book sets out how we can make that vision happen. Its a handbook for people who want to get engaged in transforming society for the better, everywhere. It is also a cross-over book suitable for students in schools and further education, teachers and academics.
