Oxford top of Independent league table and top in Politics

Oxford University remains the top institution in The Complete University Guide, 2011 rankings, published in association with The Independent newspaper. Oxford has also scored top in Politics, receiving a score of 100.

Oxford University remains the top institution in the University League Table 2011 of The Complete University Guide, for the third year running. Cambridge remains in second place behind Oxford, with both institutions excelling on most indicators.

The table ranks 115 universities in the UK on factors such as student satisfaction and the job prospects of graduates.

Oxford leads the subject tables in Politics (Sheffield was second with 93 points; LSE third also with 93; and Cambridge fourth, with 92). The subject tables look at student satisfaction, research assessment, entry standards and graduate job prospects.

Oxford was also ranked first in Economics and Law.
