DPhil candidate Jaideep Gupte`s research paper `Linking Urban Vulnerability, Infra-power and Communal Violence: extralegal security and policing in Nagpada, Mumbai` received the Medal for Outstanding Research at the Global Development Awards. Jaideep Gupte`s research paper entitled `Linking Urban Vulnerability, Infra-power and `Communal` Violence: extralegal security and policing in Nagpada, Mumbai` based on his ongoing DPhil research, has won the Medal for Outstanding Research at the Global Development Awards for 2007 in the category of `Rule of Law: Providing Security for Development`.The paper was presented at 9th Annual Global Development Network Conference on `Security for Development: Confronting Threats to Survival and Safety` in Brisbane, Australia on29-31 January 2008.
