The idea of Great Books that we all should read has been around for a long time from Victorian progressives like Sir John Lubbock to contemporary elite American universities. However, the new media revolution has put a question-mark around it. As Alan puts it, your well-stocked Kindle or your overstuffed iPad somehow doesnt cut it.
