Dr Stephen Fishers research suggests another Liberal Democrat coalition in the next general election

Date

Stephen Fishers latest computer model forecast on the outcome of the next general election was the subject of an article in The Independent (13 July) entitled General election latest: computer model predicts the Lib Dems might have even more influence.

The article's author, John Rentoul, writes: "I bring alarming news from the computer model. Stephen Fisher of Trinity College, Oxford, updates his forecast for the general election every Friday. Last Friday's data run was a shocker." He goes on to say that this prediction suggests that the next general election may see another coalition in which the Liberal Democrats are once again the dealmakers.

Mention of this research was also made in Stephen Bush's blog in the Telegraph (14 July): http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/stephenkb/100279765/cabinet-reshuffle-the-pm-is-gearing-up-for-the-fight/
