Dr Seth Lazar has been awarded a John Fell OUP Research Fund Small Grant for a conference entitled Why we fight: the purposes of military force in the twenty-first century, to be held on 7-8 October 2010.
The conference will bring together some of the worlds leading just war theorists, as well as early career researchers and postgraduates, to discuss the positive reasons for which war can justifiably be wagedjudged from the perspective of both individual combatants, and political leaders.
