Dr Scott Blinder comments on new Oxford study on migration

Date

Scott Blinder has been commenting in the media on a recently released study from the Oxford Migration Observatory, that has found that migrants from India represent the largest foreign-born population in London today.

[India and Poland] alone account for more than a quarter of the increase in the size of England and Wales migrant population, Scott said in The International Business Times.

Drawing on data from the 2011 Census for London and its boroughs, the report finds that London had about 3 million foreign-born residents in 2011, an increase of over 50 per cent since the last decade. Residents born in India represent the most numerous foreign-born group in London, accounting for 8.8 per cent of all foreign-born residents in London.

The report has been covered in The International Business Times (link), Indias Economic Times (link), and Italys la Repubblica (link).

The full report can be accessed on the Migration Observatorys website here.
