Dr Scot Peterson discusses marriage laws on BBC Radio Oxford

Date

Scot Peterson, Bingham Research Fellow in constitutional studies at Oxford, appeared on the Charles Nove program on BBC Radio Oxford to talk about the historical developments in the law of marriage.

As the legal status of same-sex marriage is debated in the US and UK in recent years, Scots research provides crucial context to such debates by tracing how laws regulating marriage have evolved historically. His comments draw on work from his soon-to-be-released book with Iain McLean, Legally Married: Love and Law in the UK and the US.

The interview can be heard on the BBC iPlayer here.

Dr Scot Peterson is Lecturer in Politics at Corpus Christi College Oxford.
