Dr Roham Alvandi awarded the Dasturzada Dr Jal Pavry Memorial Prize 2011

Congratulations to Dr Roham Alvandi, who has been awarded the2011 Dasturzada Dr Jal Pavry Memorial Prize for his DPhil thesis entitled Nixon, Kissinger and the Shah: US-Iran Relations and the Cold War, 1969-1976. The Pavry Prize is awarded annually by the Social Sciences Board to an outstanding thesis at the University of Oxford on a subject in the area of international peace and understanding.


Roham is a Lecturer in International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His thesis was also awarded the 2011 Foundation for Iranian Studies Dissertation Prize. His most recent publication, drawing on the work in his thesis, appears in the latest issue of Diplomatic History.
