Mark Philp has appeared on a panel for Melvin Braggs BBC Radio 4 progamme In Our Time (23 June), discussing the controversial political theorist, the Reverend Thomas Malthus. Mark begins by talking about the influence of William Godwin on Malthus, and gives some contextas to how Godwins theories of the perfectibility of society helped to inspire Malthuss famous work: An Essay on the Principle of Population.
