Dr Hylke Dijkstras comments in anticipation of David Camerons EU speech

As David Cameron prepared to visit the Netherlands to deliver his speech on the United Kingdoms role in the European Union, Hylke Dijkstra published an op-ed in the Dutch daily De Volkskrant (16 January) arguing that the Netherlands and the rest of the EU have little to gain from Camerons proposals.


If we allow London to renegotiate European treaties, there will probably be other countries with a wish-list, Hylke writes. France would undoubtedly want more state-aid and Germany less environmental legislation.
