Harry Verhoeven gave an interview to Radio France Internationale (21 January) about why it seemed neither party in the current South Sudan conflict is seriously commited to a ceasefire.
Harry said, "The reality, unfortunately, is that both sides very much believe in a military victory, and so they very much have the sense 'Why would we settle for 50% now if we, you know, with a bit of luck, could take 100% next week or in two weeks from now?'"
